The Board of Directors of the World Association for Christian Communication (WACC) is meeting in Toronto, Canada, 9-14 October 2011 to discuss, among other matters, WACC’s Draft Strategic Plan 2012-2016 following a series of regional and global consultations.
Over 15 consultation meetings have been held worldwide with WACC Regional Association members, project partners, Regional Executive members, funding partners, and staff since the strategic planning consultation process began in February 2011.

From Helsinki to Kigali, Yogyakarta to Tonga, Costa Rica to Lebanon and beyond, the consultation meetings gave an opportunity for hundreds of members and partners of WACC to have a voice in the strategic planning process.
The meetings were augmented by internet surveys and blog posts where members and partners used electronic tools to provide their views and opinions regarding the future of the organization.
Under the theme Communication for All, the strategic planning process began with the creation of a Consultation Document. It outlined the main issues and questions on which WACC wanted to consult with its stakeholders, to identify priorities and a renewed vision for the next five years.
The stakeholders examined significant changes and new trends in the field of communication and communication rights and provided key recommendations that will be discussed by the Board of Directors.

“The overwhelming participation has demonstrated that WACC members, funders and partners around the world are passionately committed to communication as a tool for development, social justice and human rights and see it as more relevant than ever,” said WACC General Secretary, Rev. Karin Achtelstetter.
“The ultimate goal of the process was to create a vessel that will integrate the skills, commitments, passions and experiences of the extensive network of members and partners into the future work of WACC”, said Achtelstetter.
